USPTO makes Chinese Patents Accessible

The USPTO announced today its online portal to search SIPO (State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China).  The portal is simple but effective:

The USPTO notes that the SIPO patents are machine translated so expect some awkward/humorous reading (see Translation Bloopers).  It is worthy to note the USPTO refers to this as their Global Patent Search Network (not limited to SIPO).   It is likely we will see EPO, JPO and other patent offices come online.

Every patent litigator seeking to invalidate prior art will surely bookmark this new search engine.
