Adobe Acrobat 6.0 TIFF Generation

Images submitted for electronic filing with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office must be monochrome, 300 dpi Group 4 TIFF files (multi-page TIFFs are not accepted). Since many types of images are submitted as PDF files, either by draftsmen or inventors, patent attorneys could export these PDFs into TIFF images that perfectly complied with the USPTO requirements.  In Adobe Acrobat 5.0, selecting FILE, then SAVE AS [tiff] would take a multi-page PDF and split it into individual TIFF files appropriate for filing.  Acrobat even sequentially numbered then (i.e., Fig_01.tif, Fig_02.tif, etc...).  The proper settings for Acrobat 5.0 are provided below.

However, inexplicably, Adobe removed the ability to set the TIFF image output to 300 dpi/monochrome in version 6.0.  Therefore, patent attorneys and their support staff may consider rolling back to version 5.0 of Acrobat until this functionality is put back in by Adobe.
